Yarn Along ~ August 1

Wow, August 1.  (Not quite sure how I feel about that!)  Today, I'm linking up with Ginny for her weekly yarn along.

My Tiny Tea Leaves cardi is coming along nicely.  I'm almost done with the yoke and hope to have it finished by the weekend.  This one will be for Rylen, and I'm making a size 12.  After knitting all those baby sweaters, I'm remembering that patience is indeed a virtue when it comes to knitting!

I'm super excited about these beautiful birthday yarns that came in the mail from this sweet shop, and can't wait to turn them into something cozy.  I have a few ideas in mind, but still firming those up.

Oh, and I got my first ball winder!  It was a birthday present of sorts and it came just in time because all this beautiful yarn needs to be wound.  I don't own a swift just yet, but have been told that my husband's feet will work just as well. (???)

Ball winder

This also came in the mail this week, and is about all the reading I have gotten to!  Short and sweet articles, but always interesting.

What are you knitting and/or reading this week?

Beautiful fiber! I love reading the Hobby Farm magazine, they always have such great articles and yummy recipes.

Looks like some lovely birthday goodies. Yay for the ball winder - and yes, feet or hands or the back of a chair will suffice until you get a swift. I've never heard of that magazine - I'll have to look for it.

What fun yarn! And Hobby Farms is one of my favorite magazines. Especially the Fall issues.

Gorgeous fibre and yarns! Looking forward to seeing what you decide to make of them

NH didn't know they were getting an ol' natural at this farming/homesteading stuff, did they? Lovely!

Lucky girl! I've always wanted a ball winder!

Ha--I was self winding a ball of yarn today with my Dad's hands (and then later, my Mom's hands) and thinking about a ball winder of my very own. Love all that yarn, what a feast for the eyes, have fun with it!

Beautiful yarns! The colors are gorgeous. I can't wait to see what you knit up :)

I love to be able to say when my Favorite yarn shop owner asks, 'Do you want me to wind this?'
I say 'I have the toys,' .. swift and ball winder.
It's fun!

happy birthday! Yay for a new ball winder-I love mine, it was my mother's. The middle yarn is gorgeous and I cannot wait to see what is brewing in your mind.

ooh such pretty yarns! the tiny tea leaves is looking great and will be finished in no time i'm sure! congratulations on your ball winder, isn't it fun those little things?!

Baby sweaters are super quick. I always get a shock when I start knitting grown up size and I need to have a little project on the go at the same time . . for short term rewards.
